South Dakota Patent of the Month – December 2022

Best Gen Modular, Inc. (BestGen) are experts in long-term building solutions including commercial modular construction and site-built construction. In part, this mission relies on the company’s vision and innovation. Their commitment to innovation has led to a patent for their reinforcing structure for modular construction methods.

Modular construction relies on the construction of components which are then assembled at the final site. Since these modules must be transported to the final site, reinforcing their construction is crucial to not wasting product. BestGen’s reinforcing structure supports the transport of a 50 ft. wall without any underlying support. The reinforcing structure, which takes the shape of a truss, increases both rigidity and structural integrity along the length of the wall so that it no longer requires support from below.

Proper support goes beyond transportation. These improved reinforcements ensure the structural integrity is maintained over time and provides a safe and pleasant environment for the future occupants. BestGen was founded in South Dakota in 2017. The company was founded to bring affordable housing projects and facilities to the community. With modular development processes that bring construction to completion more quickly and cost effectively than traditional construction methods.
