The delivery system uses a delivery device that acts as a flexible sleeve to guide the implant in place. The device can be sterilized to better protect the patient during surgery. The delivery device allows the implant to be handled without ever contacting the surgeon’s hands. Between this reduced contact and sanitation protocols, the surgery is further protected from contamination.
This works exceptionally well for silicone implants in cosmetic procedures. The device is flat during delivery but can be opened up during use to store the silicone implant before being delivered into the patient. A small opening at one end allows the implant to be pushed out of the device directly into the surgical opening.
