Iowa-based Makusafe Corp. has secured U.S. Patent No. 12443167, titled ‘Device, system and method for optimizing operation of production equipment’. This invention introduces a sophisticated system for real-time factory floor management. It combines worker safety monitoring with dynamic production line adjustments. The core technology leverages wearable devices worn by manufacturing personnel. This innovative approach aims to optimize both human effort and machine throughput simultaneously.
Intelligent Production Optimization
The system integrates wearable sensors and a control system. Workers wear devices that track their location and movement. The control system monitors the workers’ presence at specific equipment. It analyzes this data to determine the physicality rating of the work performed. Based on this rating, the system can dynamically adjust the worker’s rotation schedule. This helps mitigate fatigue and prevent repetitive motion injuries.
Enhancing Safety and Efficiency
Beyond scheduling, the technology enhances safety and efficiency in several ways. The control system tracks the number of workers present. It can then automatically adjust the speed of the production equipment. This ensures appropriate pacing based on human staffing levels. The system can also track how long a worker has been at a station. If the time exceeds a threshold, it sends notifications. This prompts the worker or a manager to initiate a move. Furthermore, sensors can detect accidents, trips, or falls. If an incident occurs, the system can trigger an immediate shutdown of the production line. This is critical for improving overall workplace safety.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit.
