New Hampshire Patent of the Month – February 2026
A new modular spectral imaging device from GeoPulse Solutions is set to transform how we analyze materials and objects. The technology, detailed in U.S. Patent No. 12523600, titled ‘Sensing device and related methods’, introduces a point-by-point scanning system. This innovation captures high-resolution data with unprecedented precision. By reimagining traditional imaging techniques, it offers a flexible approach to complex environmental sensing.
Precision Through Single-Pixel Scanning
Unlike standard cameras that capture entire scenes at once, this device uses a unique single-pixel photodetector. The system isolates specific light wavelengths to build a multi-dimensional image one point at a time. This temporal scanning technique ensures exceptional spatial and spectral discrimination. Users can configure the device for various spectral bands and resolutions. This level of customization allows the sensor to adapt to many different environments or target objects with ease.
Modular Innovation and Industry Use
The invention emphasizes modularity and automation. These features allow the device to integrate seamlessly into diverse research and development workflows. Because it provides deep spectral sensitivity, it can identify material compositions that other sensors might miss. This breakthrough has significant implications for non-destructive testing, environmental monitoring, and specialized manufacturing. By reducing the need for bulky, fixed equipment, the device brings advanced laboratory-grade imaging directly to the source.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
