San Jose, California Patent of the Year – 2024/2025

Bitdrift Inc. has been awarded the 2024/2025 Patent of the Year for its breakthrough in user interface observability. Their invention, detailed in U.S. Patent No. 12164937, titled ‘Systems and methods for encoding and rendering generic visualizations of a GUI of a client application’, uses a novel method to encode and transmit generic visualizations of a client application’s graphical user interface (GUI) during runtime sessions.

This technology enables client applications to capture and send structured representations of their GUIs to backend platforms. By identifying GUI elements in real time and generating datasets that encode these elements, developers can gain insights into user interactions without compromising performance.

The system operates by creating a data structure for each GUI element, encapsulating information necessary for rendering a generic representation. This approach allows for efficient transmission and analysis of user interface states, facilitating improved debugging and user experience optimization.

By abstracting the GUI into a generic format, Bitdrift’s solution ensures compatibility across
various platforms and devices. This innovation is particularly beneficial for applications requiring real-time monitoring and analytics, such as in mobile or web environments.

The patent, granted on December 10, 2024, underscores Bitdrift’s commitment to advancing application performance monitoring. By providing a mechanism to visualize and analyze GUI states dynamically, this technology stands to significantly enhance the way developers understand and improve user interactions.
