Women’s-Only Ridesharing Service Offers Worry-Free Rides

Ride options like Uber and Lyft are great options for those who don’t have cars, or even for getting home after a few drinks. But for some, it can be daunting to get into another person’s car; especially if you’re a solo woman getting into a strange man’s car. That’s where the idea for Just Her Rideshare came from. From research, founder Kimberly Evans discovered that every year, 52-million women use ride share apps. This was a significant number and after surveying women, most said they felt some level of discomfort and said they would choose to have a woman driver if it was an option.

Drivers will be interviewed and undergo background checks to guarantee the safety of all riders. Drivers will also be considered in this safety protocol as men will still be able to use the app as long as the driver feels safe transporting them. Just Her Rideshare is focused on creating a safe community of drivers and riders for women in order to offer a safe and comfortable space for those who are cautious or wary of other ridesharing.
