Arizona Patent of the Month – April 2025
Source Global, PBC has secured U.S. Patent No. 12,276,091, titled “Systems and methods for managing production and distribution of liquid water extracted from air.” This innovation enhances atmospheric water generation, offering a scalable solution for water-scarce regions.
Smarter, Decentralized Water Infrastructure
The patented system integrates multiple local water generation units, each equipped with controllers to regulate water extraction rates from ambient air. These units connect to a central reservoir that manages storage and distribution based on real-time operational data. This decentralized approach ensures efficient water production and delivery, adapting to varying environmental conditions.
Real-World Impact
Designed for deployment in remote or arid areas, this technology reduces reliance on traditional water infrastructure. By harnessing atmospheric moisture, it provides a sustainable water source, potentially transforming access to clean water in underserved communities.
The system’s modularity allows for scalable implementation, making it suitable for diverse applications—from rural villages to disaster relief scenarios. Its smart controls optimize water production, ensuring resource efficiency and adaptability to local needs.
As global water scarcity intensifies, innovations like Source Global’s patented system represent a significant step toward sustainable water solutions. By leveraging atmospheric water harvesting, it offers a promising alternative to conventional water supply methods.

What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
