Mangata Networks Receives Funding from Scottish Enterprise

The Arizona-based company, Mangata Networks, LLC has announced a new R&D center in Edinburgh, Scotland. This center comes with a $50 million financing bonus and starts the company off for a great partnership with Scottish Enterprise. Scottish Enterprise is a body of the Scottish Government which encourages economic development, enterprise, innovation and investment in business.

Mangata specializes in satellite enabled telecommunication services. They are “building a bridge between connectivity and access, weaving in endless possibilities for businesses and communities to share, learn from each other, and prosper”. Their unique satellite technology could help to bridge the divide caused by internet access disparity. Their network enables the delivery of economic, reliable, secure high-speed 5G connectivity over satellite on a global basis. To add to their connectivity, they can either host communications on their own platform or integrate into existing networks.

Scotland is hoping Mangata will help to enhance their space capabilities. Scotland is on a mission to be ranked among the world’s leading space sector nations. Scottis Government Trade and Innovation Minister Ivan McKee said: “Space has an important role to play as we build a sustainable, high skilled and globally competitive economy and I welcome Mangata Networks to Scotland”.
