Indiana Patent of the Month – January 2023
Spotselfie™, a new social media platform created by Flying Eye Reality LLC, is set on bringing user’s digital lives into the real world. Users can build a community with those who are both physically and virtually nearby. Unlike traditional social media platforms, Spotselfie™ aims to connect users by pinning pictures and media to a user’s location so that the memory lives on.
Flying Eye Reality goes beyond simply providing a space for users to post content, and has developed a solution to build a more personal community within the app. This is achieved with the newly patented “Mojo” technology, which allows users to answer a personality questionnaire, developing their own unique “Mojo” – or a multi-color profile. Users can then build their own community by connecting with those who have a similar Mojo.
Spotselfie™ also identifies relevant marketing opportunities for users based on the information in their social media profiles. This allows for a more personalized experience for the user and provides an additional source of revenue for the platform.
The unique approach of Flying Eye Reality to social media interactions sets it apart from the rest, making it an exciting platform for individuals seeking new and innovative ways to connect with others. Its focus is on connecting users who are strangers and promoting direct and virtual person-to-person communications and social interactions, opening up new possibilities for individuals to expand their social circle and make new friends.
Are you developing new technology for an existing application? Did you know your development work could be eligible for the R&D Tax Credit and you can receive up to 14% back on your expenses? Even if your development isn’t successful your work may still qualify for R&D credits (i.e. you don’t need to have a patent to qualify). What is the R&D Tax Credit?
The Research & Experimentation Tax Credit (or R&D Tax Credit), is a general business tax credit under Internal Revenue Code section 41 for companies that incur research and development (R&D) costs in the United States. The credits are a tax incentive for performing qualified research in the United States, resulting in a credit to a tax return. For the first three years of R&D claims, 6% of the total qualified research expenses (QRE) form the gross credit. In the 4th year of claims and beyond, a base amount is calculated, and an adjusted expense line is multiplied times 14%. Click here to learn more.
